 From the Pastor's Study . . .

I hope that you have heard it said that "Great things are happening at Adnah United Methodist Church!" They are, indeed! Our church is engaged, faithfully and actively, in lifting up Jesus Christ to our community, and, through the United Methodist connection, to the world. All of our ministries -- worship, educational, fellowship, and pastoral care -- are being carried out in fulfillment of the Biblical mandates to love God and love our neighbor, and to preach, teach, and baptize in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The pastor, staff, and lay leadership of Adnah UMC send you greetings in the name of that same Lord.

The annual Charge Conference for Adnah UMC was held on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, under the direction of the Rock Hill District Superintendent, the Reverend Sara Ann White.  In preparation for ministry in 2007, we elected local church officials and presented a local church operating budget. But we also took time to celebrate those "great things" that are happening at Adnah UMC, and we prayed for the motivation and spiritual power to continue our faithful Christian witness in the coming year.  We met together as leaders in the Body of Christ ... as stewards of Christ's church ... to draw strength and inspiration from our shared faith.

As your pastor, I would encourage you to be in fervent prayer for your church officials, pastor, and all who turn to Adnah United Methodist Church for ministry.  Pray often and with great intensity. And, with true Wesleyan evangelical "zeal," be faithful in telling the story of Jesus Christ to those with whom you have contact.  Let others know that, truly, "Great things are happening at Adnah United Methodist Church!"

May God continue to bless us as we work and witness together in God's Kingdom.
